UB police to host town hall

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Police will host a public safety forum for the UB community from 12:30-1:30 p.m. June 24 in 146 Diefendorf Hall, South Campus.

The event is the first in a series of town hall meetings to be held by UB police this summer and fall across all three campuses.

Campus safety is of the utmost importance to the university and these town hall meetings provide university police with the opportunity to speak directly with the UB community, provide the campus with updates and address any public safety concerns from students, staff and faculty.

Tuesday’s meeting will include a short presentation by UB Police Chief Kim Beaty and her deputies, followed by a question-and-answer period.

This first forum will focus on public safety on and around the South Campus.

“ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ safety is not just the responsibility of the police; it is a collective effort by our community that involves students, faculty, staff and visitors,” Beaty says.

“We must work together to create and maintain a secure and welcoming environment for all.”

A town hall meeting will be scheduled for the Downtown Campus in July and for the North Campus in August. Further details on those meetings will be provided as they become available.

UB police are also planning similar town hall meetings for the three campuses in the fall.
